MHA,Gol,conducted training on National Disaster Management Information System(NDMIS) portal for Assam, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura
Guwahati, Rongili Barta: The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), GoI in collaboration with Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA) conducted the day long zone-wise training on National Disaster Management Information System (NDMIS) for the concerned officials of States viz. Assam, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura today at ASDMA Conference Hall. The portal is a comprehensive online application, being developed to capture disaster damages and the losses effectively and also for monitoring of funds disbursal under State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF) and National Disaster Response Fund (NDRF) to States for relief activities in case of disasters. The online System will track the impacts of hazards for the entire country upto district level.
Inaugurating the training programme today, Shri G. D. Tripathi, IAS, Commissioner& Secretary, Revenue & DM Department welcomed all the participants from MHA, GoI, State Disaster Management Authorities of Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura. He said that, this online portal would definitely help the SDMAs to improve data transparency, data availability, data authenticity and data consolidation at central level related to the allotment and utilization of SDRF and NDRF funds. The online portal has two components. The first would help in reporting the data related to State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF) and National Disaster Response Fund (NDRF) from the districts to state, and from state to centre. This module has already been launched and it is in use by other states. The second component would help in capturing disaster damage and losses and also for monitoring the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction (SFDRR). Under this component, parameters such as death, injury, affected population by categories, economic losses in sectors such as education, health, housing, agriculture, industries, critical infrastructure such as roads, bridges and building, cultural heritages etc. will be captured. The state and their respective districts will be responsible to enter the data of their local disasters.
The training prograrnme was also attended by Shri Alakananda Medhi, State Project Coordinator (SPC), ASDMA, Shri Vilaam Gurjar, Deputy Commandant, MHA, New Delhi, Shri Harsh Meena, Consultant (NDMIS), MHA, New Delhi, Shri Pawan Atora, NIC, New Delhi.
Mr. R. Lalromawai and Mr. Zavkhana, DM Department, Mizoram State Disaster Management Authority, Mr. K. Chandrasekhar Singh and Mr. Gaithuingam Golmei, DM Department, Manipur State Disaster Management Authority, Shri Suman Deb, Shri Jayanta Dey, Shri Satyajit Deb, Smt. Pinki Pal and Smt. Sanhita Sarkar Paul, Tripura State Disaster Management Authority attended the training programme along with the other senior officials of Revenue and DM Department and ASDMA.
