Meeting between Dibrugarh District Administration and Representatives of Recognized Political Parties Regarding Panchayat Elections

Hashim Ali,Dibrugarh,Rongili Barta- A crucial meeting regarding the Panchayat elections was held on April 7 under the chairmanship of Dibrugarh District Commissioner Bikram Kairi with representatives of recognized political parties at the conference hall of the District Commissioner’s office. During the meeting, Election Officer Pranjil Gogoi provided a detailed explanation through a Power Point presentation on various aspects of the Panchayat elections, including the submission of nomination papers, selection of election symbols for candidates, and various rules related to the election. The District Commissioner held discussions with the representatives of the political parties on various matters related to the Panchayat elections and urged all present to cooperate in conducting the election process smoothly and without any law and order issues. In Dibrugarh district, elections will be held in 1,165 polling stations for the posts of members of 930 wards under 22 Zila Parishads, 7 Anchalik Panchayats, and 93 Gaon Panchayats. Nomination papers for the Panchayat elections will be accepted from April 3 to April 11 between 11 AM and 3 PM. The scrutiny of nomination papers will be held on April 12, and the list of valid candidates will also be published on the same day. Candidates may withdraw their nominations by 3 PM on April 17, after which the final list of candidates will be published. The expenditure limits for the Panchayat election are as follows:Rs. 25,000 for Gaon Panchayat member candidates Rs. 2,50,000 for Anchalik Panchayat member candidates Rs. 10,00,000 for Zila Parishad member candidates.
