“Manipur youth have represented North East India substantially in Sports, others must follow”: Ms. Nandita Garlosa

Guwahati,Rongili Barta: Ms. Nandita Garlosa, Minister for Power, Cooperation, Mines, Minerals, Indigenous and Tribal Faith and Culture Department, released the University Museum’s Coffee Table Book today in the varsity campus.

In her address to the students, Ms. Garlosa stressed on the importance of awareness, conservation, and preservation of one’s heritage, emphasizing the importance of organic artefacts. Praising the student contributors for their hard work invested, she acknowledged the systematic evolution of civilization represented right from agrarian to industrial societies. 

Ms. Garlosa further threw light upon the numerous initiatives taken up by the central as well as the state governments to motivate participation of youth in different fields including sports, education as others through initiatives like Khel Maharan. Reminding students to always believe in themselves and reach out to their dreams, she also encouraged them to visit local World Heritage Sites like the Charaideo Moidam and inherit the legacy of North East India.

She further praised the youth of Manipur for their active participation in the arena of sports in national and international events, also encouraging others to follow suit. Ms. Garlosa also highlighted the need of the moment to ensure northeast’s rich heritage and history be represented in academic textbooks.
