Kavi Sammelan organised in Raj Bhavan
Guwahati,Rongili Barta- On the eve of Independence day, a Kavi sammelan was held in Raj Bhavan today in the presence of Assam Governor Gulab Chand Kataria and the First Lady Anita Kataria. Expressing his thoughts at the sammelan, the Governor said, “India’s independence was secured through the sacrifices of our countrymen, whose unforgettable endurance paved the way for us to breathe freely and celebrate the fruits of freedom”. Highlighting the importance of poetry, Kataria said that poets possess the ability to eloquently express their emotions, enabling the people in comprehending the essence of the inherent message. Poetry stands as a significant pillar in conveying the narrative of our struggle for independence. Poetry is a beautiful medium of expression that not only enthrals people but also creates a positive vibes in society and generates awareness among people”. The Governor also said that as India achieves freedom in 1947, the nation aspires to ascend to the stature of ‘Vishwaguru’ by the year 2047. The eminent poets who participated in the Kavi Sammelan are Ajit Rao, Sardar Manjit Singh, Ashok Charan, Dinkar Kumar, Pushpa Soni, Kavita Beria, Kishore Jain, Ravi Shankar Ravi, Manoj Naayab and Soumitram. MP Lok Sabha Qeen Oja, Air Commodore AoC, 19 Wing IAF Borjhar Air Force Station Atul Sagar, Major General Rajesh Jha GoC, HQ 51 Sub Area, Narengi, Principal Secretary Revenue and Disaster management Gyannendra Dev Tripathi, Special DGP S.N.Singh, Commissioner and Secretary to the Governor S.S. Meenakshi Sundaram, OSD to Governor Nishkam Diwakar along with a host of other dignitaries were present in the Kavi Sammelan.
