IMCT interacted with ASDMA on current Flood & Landslide situation in Assam

Guwahati,Rongili Barta: In view of the current flood and landslide situation in the State, the Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA) along with all the stakeholders expedited the response and recovery services to the severely affected districts. Some of the major initiatives undertaken in the last 24 hours are:
1. An Inter-Ministerial Central Team (IMCT) from Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), Govt. of India reached Guwahati today and interacted with the Revenue and DM Dept. and Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA) officials as a part of their scheduled field visit to Assam from May 26 to May 29, 2022 for damage assessment of recent flood and landslide in the State.
2. To accelerate an effective damage assessment, IMCT members will be divided into 2 groups for visiting the relevant affected districts. The first group including the Team leader Ravinesh Kumar, FA, NDMA, Anjali Maurya, Asst. Director, Department of Expenditure, Ministry of Finance, Adelbert Sungi, Regional Officer, Ministry of Road Transport and accompanied by P. Vijay Bhaskar Reddy, IAS, Jt. Secretary and Jt. CEO, ASDMA will visit the Cachar and Dima Hasao districts on May 27 and May 28, 2022.
3. The second group of IMCT including Jintu Das, Jt. Director, Ministry of Agriculture,
Ajay Kumar Sinha, Supt. Engineer, Ministry of Jal Shakti, Kailash Shankla, Under
Secretary, Ministry of Rural Development, Govt. of India will visit the Darrang, Nagaon and Hojai districts on May 27 and May 28, 2022.
As per the Flood Report till date, the major points are:
A. 2 human lives lost in flood in last 24 hours and now total 30 human lives (25 in Flood & 5 in Landslide) have been lost in the first phase of flood till date.
B. A total of 5,61,149 populations of 956 villages in 12 districts affected in flood in last 24 hours.
C. A total of 47139.12 hectares crop areas have been affected in flood in last 24 hours.
D. 295 relief camps and 70 relief distribution centres have been opened in all affected areas in last 24 hours.
E. A total of 66,836 inmates are staying in these relief
F. Flood situation though improving is under close watch.
