Half-Day Seminar on ‘ICSI MSME & STARTUP CONNECT 2025’ Organized by Siliguri Chapter of The ICSI
Rongili Barta- The Siliguri Chapter of the Eastern India Regional Council (EIRC) of The Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) successfully organized a Half-Day Seminar on the theme ‘ICSI MSME & STARTUP CONNECT 2025’ on Saturday, 2nd August 2025, at the Chapter premises.
The Seminar was enriched by the presence of distinguished dignitaries and subject matter experts:
• Shri T. C. Lama, Assistant Director, Gr-I, MSME, DFO Siliguri, graced the event as the Chief Guest. He delivered a thought-provoking address on ‘Government Schemes & Opportunities for MSMEs & Startups’, elaborating on the wide range of initiatives launched by the government to empower entrepreneurs and support startup ecosystems.
• Shri Uttam Mahapatra, Assistant Director, West Bengal MSME Department, attended as the Guest of Honour, and shared his insights on ‘MSME Samadhaan – Delayed Payment Monitoring System’, highlighting the importance of timely payments and legal remedies available for MSMEs.
• CS Pragya Jhunjhunwala, Angel Investor and MSME Didi from Kolkata, joined as the Guest Speaker. She spoke on ‘MSME Governance: Opportunities for Company Secretaries’, shedding light on how governance professionals can play essential role in strengthening the MSME and startup frameworks.
The Seminar also featured a virtual address by CS Anuj Saraswat, Chairman, EIRC of The ICSI, who extended his best wishes and shared strategic insights into the growing involvement of Company Secretaries in MSME operations and compliance.
The event commenced with a formal welcome address by CS (Dr.) Pintu Prasad Jaiswal, Chairman, Siliguri Chapter of EIRC of The ICSI, who emphasized the relevance of the Seminar’s theme and topics in the present economic scenario.
The Seminar concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by CS Amit Kumar Goyal, Secretary, Siliguri Chapter of EIRC of The ICSI, who expressed heartfelt appreciation to the dignitaries and participants.
The Seminar was efficiently coordinated by Mr. Damodar Soni, a dedicated student of The ICSI.
The Seminar witnessed participation from members and students of the Institute. Certificates of Participation were distributed to all student attendees, making the Seminar a valuable and enriching learning opportunity.
This Half-Day Seminar was a part of The ICSI’s attempt to strengthen MSME and Startup capabilities among entrepreneurs and governance professionals, emphasizing the Institute’s commitment to capacity building and nation-building.
