Governor Shri Acharya hoists National Flag on 79th Independence day at Raj Bhavan
Guwahati,Rongili Barta: Joining the nation in celebrating the 79th Independence Day, Assam Governor Shri Lakshman Prasad Acharya hoisted the National Flag at Raj Bhavan.
The ceremony was attended by officers and staff of Raj Bhavan, with CRPF presenting an impressive Guard of Honour. The event reflected the spirit of patriotism and unity that marks this historic day across the country.
In his address, Governor Shri Acharya extended heartfelt greetings to the people of Assam and the nation. He urged every citizen to contribute actively to the task of nation-building and work collectively towards realizing the vision of a Viksit Bharat.
The Governor paid rich tributes to the countless freedom fighters whose sacrifices paved the way for India’s independence. “We owe a deep debt of gratitude to the brave souls who gave their all for our nation’s freedom,” he said.
To mark the occasion, Governor Acharya and First Lady Smt. Kumud Devi also distributed sweets to the family members of Raj Bhavan employees and security personnel, adding a warm and festive touch to the celebration.
