Governor interacts with Republic Day Parade 2025 National Service Scheme (NSS) North East contingents

Guwahati,Rongili Barta:  Assam Governor Shri Lakshman Prasad Acharya spent some time interacting with 18 participants of National Service Scheme (NSS) contingents from North Eastern States that participated in the Republic Day Parade held at Kartavya Path in New Delhi 2025, at a function held at the conference hall of Raj Bhavan here.

The Governor congratulated the contingent on being a part of the Republic Day celebrations. He said participation in the Republic Day parade is itself a prestigious and lifetime achievement for the NSS volunteers.

He also said that taking part in the parade at Kartavya Path creates thrill and arouses intense feeling of patriotism.

Highlighting the role of NSS in social service and nation-building, the Governor acknowledged the impact of the discipline, dedication and devotion inculcated among the volunteers of the NSS which help them immensely when they grow up.

He took note of the initiatives such as the “Mera Yuva Bharat (MY Bharat) Portal,” and called upon the youth to use the opportunity for career development and experiential learning.

Referring to the vision of Viksit Bharat as envisioned by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the Governor encouraged the NSS volunteers to contribute actively towards India’s economic, social, and environmental progress. “A developed India will be one that is strong in economy and ecology, offering vast opportunities for education, employment, and environmental protection,” the Governor added.

Shri Acharya felicitated the contingent with books and wished them luck for all their future endeavours.

The Regional Director of NSS Guwahati Jangjilong accompanied the contingent to the Governor.

Commissioner and Secretary to the Governor, S.S. Meenakshi Sundaram, NSS programme coordinator Dr.Ranjan Kumar Kakati and officials from Raj Bhavan were present during the function.
