Governor inaugurates annual convention of Seemant Chetna Manch Purvottar Seemant Chetana Manch is promoting border awareness, and fostering national integration: Governor

Guwahati,Rongili Barta: Assam Governor Shri Lakshman Prasad Acharya today inaugurated the two-day annual convention of Seemant Chetna Manch Purvottar (Assam State unit) at the State Institute of Panchayat and Rural Development (SIPRD), Kahikuchi in Guwahati.

 

Addressing the assembly of delegates, community leaders, and youth representatives, the Governor hailed the organisation’s commitment to promoting border awareness, fostering national integration, and empowering communities in remote and sensitive regions.

Calling the convention “a symbol and celebration of our social awareness, unity, and deep affection for our motherland,” Shri Acharya praised Seemant Chetna Manch for its grassroots work in connecting border populations with the national fabric. He said, “Your service is a shining example of patriotism—one that transcends slogans and is rooted in dedication, responsibility, and a sense of duty.” He also thanked Seemant Chetana Manch Purvottar for unrelentingly working in Assam and rekindling the national consciousness of the people which was enriched by the great Srimanta Sankardeva.

He on the occasion asked everyone to take a pledge for building a progressive India by imbibing the ideals of Srimanta Sankardeva, and Veer Lachit Borphukan.

“In today’s digital age, we must not lose touch with ground realities,” Shri Acharya emphasized adding he said, “It is the vigilant citizens of our border villages who stand as the first line of defence. As our Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has rightly said, border villages are not the last but the first villages of our nation.”

 

Shri Acharya lauded the Manch for upholding the sacred responsibility of national service through academic outreach, youth engagement, and community mobilisation.

Chairman and Managing Director of NEDFi P.V.S.L.N. Murty, National Convener of Seema Jagaran Manch Ram Kumar, Functionaries of Seemanta Chetna Manch Purvottar Dr. Pratima Neogi,  Bablu Kumar Roy, Dr. Binita Bhagwati along with a host of other dignitaries were present in the inaugural programme.
