Governor holds meeting with district administration in Baksa
Visits Dr. Ravi Boro Civil Hospital and Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya
Guwahati, Rongili Barta: Assam Governor Shri Gulab Chand Kataria visited Baksa where he visited Dr. Ravi Boro Civil Hospital in Mushalpur and took stock of the treatment facilities available in the hospital.
Accompanied by Handloom, Textile and Sericulture Minister UG Brahma, Governor Shri Kataria during his visit to the hospital enquired about different wards and the facilities made available to the patients. He also took note of the vacancies in the hospital and said that appropriate steps will be taken to address the issue.
The Governor also interacted with some of the patients in the hospital and took their suggestions for improving the services of the hospital. He took a note on patient registration records for both OPD and IPD and asked Superintendent Chakradhar Barman to make adequate efforts to give possible healthcare facilities to the patients in the hospital itself, without having them to visit Guwahati. The Governor also enquired about the institutional deliveries carried out in the hospital.
Later, the Governor visited Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya in Mushalpur, where he inaugurated an Experiential Learning Centre. He inspected the facilities and expressed confidence that the center would enhance learning and recreational experiences of the students. During his visit, the Governor praised the merit-based admission system and the diverse backgrounds of the teachers, which provide students with advanced learning experiences in accordance with the objectives of the NEP 2020. He commended the school for its excellent exam results and the achievements of its students and alumni.
The Governor emphasized that education combined with moral values is the key to societal development. He, therefore, asked the students to give back to society and the younger generation their values that they inculcate during their stay in school.
The Governor also visited Shree Ganesh Food Industries, where he interacted with the proprietor and inquired about the manufacturing process and the possibilities of employment avenues the industry is creating for the local youth.
Earlier in the day, the Governor reviewed the activities of various departments, including Education, PHE, Irrigation, and PWD, at the DC’s Conference Hall in Mushalpur. He stressed the importance of delivering services to every resident of the district in a time bound manner. Handloom, Textile and Sericulture Minister UG Brahma, BTC Speaker Katiram Boro, DC Krishna Baruah, and SP Uzzal Protim Baruah were present during the review meeting.
