Governor confers the highest state civilian awards 2024
Guwahati, Rongili Barta: Assam Governor Shri Lakshman Prasad Acharya presented the Highest State Civilian Awards 2024 at a ceremony held at Srimanta Sankardev International Auditorium in the city.
The event was attended by Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma.
The Assam Baibhav Award, the state’s highest civilian honour, was presented to Lt Gen Rana Pratap Kalita (Retd).
Assam Saurabh was presented to Shri. Subramanian Ramadorai [Academician], Dr. Bappi Paul [Science & Tech (Environmental Science)], Dr. Purabi Saikia [Science & Tech (Environmental Science] Shri. Dwipen Baruah [Art & Culture (Singer)], Shri Hemanta Dutta [Art & Culture(Dramatist)] and Smti. Uma Chetry [Sports (Cricket)].
Assam Gaurav was presented to Smti. Phuleswari Dutta [Wildlife Conservation], Smti. Meenakshi Das [Sports (Motorbiking)], Shri Parthib Sundar Gogoi [Sports (Football)], Shri. Dhirendra Nath Paul [Handicrafts (Terracotta Artisan)], Shri Haridas Das [Handicraft (Brass Metal Artisan)], Shri. Binong Teron [Social Work (Coaching for students)], Shri Nazrul Haque [Aquaculture (Fish Farming)], Shri. Biswajit Borah [Agriculture & Allied], Shri Bharat Ch. Kalita [Dairy: Milk Production],Shri. The award ceremony was attended by cabinet ministers and govt. officials along with a host of other dignitaries.
