Governor condoles death of Prafulla Govinda Baruah

Guwahati,Rongili Barta: Assam Governor Shri Lakshman Prasad Acharya expressed deep grief over the demise of veteran journalist, eminent media doyen Shri Prafulla Govinda Baruah.

Governor Shri Acharya said that the passing away of Shri P. G. Baruah, the owner of The Assam Tribune, is an irreparable loss to the media fraternity as well as to the social life of the State. He stated that Shri Baruah’s visionary leadership and lifelong contribution played a defining role in shaping responsible journalism in Assam. His absence will always be felt in the socio-cultural-literary and journalistic landscape of the state. The Governor expressed that his invaluable services toward the state will be remembered. He, however said that the legacy that Shri Prafulla Govinda Baruah has left behind will be souce of inspiration for the posterity.

The Governor prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family members, his followers and the Assam Tribune fraternity.
