Governor attends 14th National Voters Day
Guwahati,Rongili Barta- Assam Governor Shri Gulab Chand Kataria attended the 14th National Voters’ Day organized by the Office of the Chief Electoral Officer, Assam in collaboration with the Office of the District Election Officer, Kamrup (M) at ITA, Machkhown in the city here. Speaking on the occasion, Governor Shri Kataria addressing the first time voters, said that voters are the foundation of India’s democracy. He said that their votes constitute the core principle of democracy. Acknowledging the immense power of voters, he highlighted their ability to shape the nation’s destiny by electing the right individuals. Praising the Election Commission, the governor highlighted its crucial role in upholding Indian democracy through transparent, impartial, and independent electoral processes. Underscoring the significance of voting, he stressed that every citizen can exert their through their vote. The governor said voting allows individuals to choose their government and contribute to the nation’s progress. The Governor, particularly referring to the first time voters, said that the nation’s prosperity hinges on everyone’s active participation in the electoral process. The Governor emphasized that the voters’ sense of duty which reflects through exercising their franchise is vital for shaping the country. Highlighting the youthful demography, the Governor motivated young voters, stating that their voices and votes have the potential to steer the nation towards development. Therefore, he, called upon everyone, regardless of their background, to exercise their right to vote for the collective advancement of the nation. The event was attended by the Chief Electoral Officer, Assam, Anural Goel, District Commissioner, Kamrup(M) Sumit Sattawan and a host of students from various educational institutes of Guwahati.
