Engineer’s Day celebrated in Dibrugarh

M Hashim Ali,Dibrugarh, Rongili Barta- Engineers are not only makers of machines, engineers are the makers of dreams of the future, engineers are the architects of civilization. Engineers encourage the people of the country to make their dreams come true.  Recalling the Engineer’s Day hosted by Krishnakanta Das, organised by ADESA Dr. Sashikanta Saikia said . Dr.Saikia Said the advancement of technology is now at its peak. “We should all dream, not dreams that keep anyone awake day and night,” he said, paying tribute to the role of engineers in building society with the power of technology and advancing society with development and innovation. Today, in a digital India, the role of engineers in all areas like renewable energy, transportation, infrastructure, rural development etc. is immense. In order to move the country forward in technology, honesty, innovation and social service must be combined. Dr.Saikia quoted many stories from the life of the famous engineer, Bharat Ratna S.M.Visvesvaraya, saying that no work is small and if done with respect, it is great. To do true service, one must add something that cannot be purchased with money, with gold. That is the only loyalty and honesty. He said technology should always be for the welfare of human beings and for development, justice, equality and progress. There are no shortcuts to success. Engineers can make the dream of civilization a reality. He said engineers can shape the dreams of society and move towards reality by holding on to the sleeves of dreams. He added that in today’s era, engineering is not limited to mechanical advances, it is a combined journey of intelligence, discovery and sense of responsibility for the advancement of human society. He reiterated that engineering is not limited to building machinery, roads, bridges and buildings. Engineering means new ideas, new innovations and deep responsibility towards society. Success does not depend on how much money you earn in life, success depends on how much we all improve people’s lives, society and civilization. Engineers must make an effort to turn problems into opportunities. Innovation must be taken to the lower strata of society. “Engineers can build a beautiful innovative India and make it shine in the world. He said all engineers should inspire everyone to change society, not just jobs. “If engineers are limited to studying curriculum subjects, the innovative journey of our society can never be beautiful,” he said. Our India can never be beautiful unless all engineers feel that they will create and innovate and pave the way for future generations of society and country. He addressed the engineers present in his speech and urged them to dream, work hard and move the society forward with a sense of responsibility. Dr. Saikia  mentioned the contribution of engineers from developed countries like Japan, Germany and China to the society.
