Guwahati, Rongili Barta : The Deeksharambha- the Students Induction Program for the newly admitted Masters and PhD students of Royal Global University began today with the first address by Shri Pradyut Manikya Deb Barma, the Scion of the erstwhile Royal family of Tripura. In a thought-provoking speech, Shri Deb Barma stated that University is the place where young students   get to learn about different subjects, about the world and about life itself. Most importantly, he said, University is the place where one learns to question, debate and to resolve academic and intellectual contradictions and differences. Shri Deb Barma appealed to the students to build strong character with honesty and integrity. This alone would make them courageous and bold that is necessary to raise one’s voice against injustice, denials and oppression. He also urged the students to be kind, loving and empathetic to all. 

The second speaker of Deeksharambha was Professor Amarjyoti Chaudhury, eminent academic and a former Vice Chancellor of Gauhati University who is also a renowned man of letters explained to the young students the importance of Deeksharambha. Professor Chaudhury explained to the students the meaning and relation of Deeksha and Siksha. He emphasised on the importance of empathy and values in our Siksha to make us truly educated. Referring to the advancement of technology like the Artificial Intelligence, Professor Chaudhury stated that while technology should be applied to make our life easy, technology must not be allowed to dictate and determine our life.

Earlier, Professor Alak K Buragohain, the interim Vice Chancellor and Professor Ankur Ganguly, Dean, Academic extended warm welcome to the distinguished speakers.
