Assam Governor visits Haflong
Guwahati, Rongili Barta- Assam Governor Prof. Jagdish Mukhi visited the Dima Hasao district today and chaired a meeting with the CEM and Executive Members of NC Hills Autonomous Council at the circuit house in Haflong. During the meeting with the CEM and executive members, the Governor took stock of the progress of the work of various departments under the administrative control of NCHA Principal Secretary, NCHAC Thao Tsho Daulagupu made a detailed presentation about the demography of the autonomous district whereby the progress status and achievement of various central and state Govt. schemes were highlighted. By congratulating the team efforts of the executive body the Governor opined, “The NCHAC’s commitment towards the welfare of the people of the district is quite laudable and it can be seen through their accomplishments of schemes and utilization of funds towards the exhaustive development of the region.’ He also expressed that, Water and Electricity facilities are the prime services that a household deserves. Therefore each household should have electricity and running water facilities without a miss. By monitoring various schemes implemented in the district, the Governor said that “the highest authority should be closely monitoring the implementation of Prime Minister’s Flagship programmes for the larger benefit of the people in the district. Speaking highly about the tourism prospects of the district, the Governor also gave his vital suggestions for the upliftment of the tourism landscape of the only hill station in the State. The Governor also shared a slew of meetings with the Security agencies deployed in the region, and different delegations representing social, sports, religious and student organizations etc. Addl. Chief Secretary of Govt. of Assam Manindra Singh, CEM, NCHAC, Debolal Gorlosa, Chairperson Ranu Langthasa DC Nazreen Ahmed, and SP Mayank Kumar were present during the meeting.
