Assam Governor takes briefing of Revenue and Disaster Department

Guwahati,Rongili Barta- Assam Governor Shri Gulab Chand Kataria took briefing of the activities of the Revenue and Disaster Management department in the presence of the departmental minister Jogen Mohan in the conference hall of Raj Bhavan here. Special Secretary, Revenue and DM, Ashok Kumar Barman gave a presentation on the activities and achievements of the department along with Principal Secretary of the department Gyanendra Dev Tripathi. The presentation dealt with initiatives under Revenue & D.M. Department, E-Panjeeyan System, responsibilities of Registering Officers, National Generic Document Registration System (NGDRS), Digital Stamping, Registration Fee, Stamp Duty and Land Revenue Collection – last 7 Years, Land Revenue, Stamp Duties and Registration Fees, Step taken towards Reforms in respect of Stamp and Registration, Marriage Registration among others. The Governor stressed on reforms and digitization of the department which would go a long way in helping people of the state. He also said that in the last few years online processes in the department have improved significantly. Minister Jogen Mohan during the briefing said that lot of reforms have taken place in the department under the guidance of the Chief Minister. The meeting was attended among others by the Commissioner and Secretary to the Governor S.S. Meenakshi Sundaram, Secretary, Revenue & D.M. Department, Assam Dr. Karuna Kumari, Secretary to the Governor Swapna Dutta Deka, Secretary Revenue & D.M. Dept. Gitanjali Bhattacharjee and other senior officers.
