Assam Governor Shri Lakshman Prasad Acharya felicitates armed forces veteran

Guwahati,Rongili Barta : In what can be termed as a fitting tribute to those primarily responsible for strengthening the tenets of Sovereign, Socialist, Secular and Democratic Republic of India, Assam Governor Shri Lakshman Prasad Acharya on the occasion of the 77th Republic Day, felicitated a few armed forces veteran at a programme held at Lok Bhavan.

The Governor on the occasion, felicitated armed forces veteran achievers namely M. Hari Keshore Singha, Kirti Prasad Chaliha, Khanindra Bezbora, Tarendra Nath Basumutary, and Ex-Havildar Paresh Chandra Nath in recognition of their exemplary contributions both on and off their service. The armed forces veteran after their superannuation from the services engaged themselves in various welfare activities and are making positive changes in the society.

The Governor while felicitating them hailed their role both as armed forces personnel as well as citizens of the country. Shri Acharya wished them a long life and requested them to continue their services to bring about qualitative changes through their productive engagements. He also said that they are the inspirations and asked them to remain like that so that the younger generation can emulate them.
