Assam Governor meets CEM and officials of BTC

Assures all help for the development of the councils

Guwahati,Rongili Barta- With a view to gear up development initiatives of BTR, Assam Governor Gulab Chand Kataria chaired a meeting with the CEM of BTC Pramod Boro and other officials in Raj Bhavan. Chief of the BTC Pramod Boro gave an overview of all the development initiatives  carried out by the BTC in association with different departments. He also highlighted the progress of centrally-sponsored flagship schemes and social welfare projects being implemented by the government of BTR for the welfare of the people in the region. He also sought Governor’s guidance and support to carry out the development activities in the BTR. Principal Secretary BTC Akash Deep gave a power point presentation on the profile of BTC, special initiatives and flagship missions taken by the Govt. of BTR, status of education, health, revenue of the Council, management of funds, agriculture, urban development, PHED, social welfare, PWD, National Food Security Mission, animal husbandry and veterinary, sports and youth welfare and others. The Governor asked the officials to concentrate on agriculture as it is a driving force to increase the income of the farmers and also raise the standard of their living. He further asked them to promote fishery and mushroom cultivation which will yield them a good return. The Governor also expressed satisfaction on their performance in serving the people and also assured his support to the Council in their endeavours to serve the people. Commissioner and Secretary to the Governor SS Meenakshi Sundaram, Secretary to the Governor Swapna Dutta Deka, Secretary, Welfare of Bodoland Department Umananda Doley, Secretary BTC Jatin Bora, Secretary BTC Dhiraj Saud, Secretary BTC Amar Jyoti Barman, Secretary BTC Sujit Baglari, OSD to Governor Nishkaam Divakar along with a host of others were present in the meeting.
