Assam Governor attends youth conclave

Calls upon the youth to upscale their skills and prepare themselves for ‘Industry 4.0’

Guwahati, Rongili Barta –  Assam Governor Gulab Chand Kataria attended a youth conclave 2.0 on the theme ‘Skilling Youths on Atma Nirbhar Bharat’ which was jointly organised by Mayang Anchalik College in collaboration with Assam Skill Development Mission NESC, Council for Teacher Education Foundation-Assam and Gauhati University NSS cell at Mayong Anchalik College, in Morigaon today. Addressing the conclave, Kataria said that the participation of the youth is the most important aspect in the socio-economic and academic progress of any nation. “Our youth are the backbone, who have the capability to take the country to new heights. Filled with intense energy and high ambitions, our youth are hell bent to the task of nation building”, the Governor added.Taking a retrospective view of the journey that the nation has traversed so far, the Governor said that all the major changes that took place in the country were possible because of the youth and their strong will power. The only need is to positively guide the youth and motivate them in the right direction. He said that all challenges can be tackled with courage and skill, as he said that challenges come with their inherent opportunities. The youth need to face the challenges upfront and calibrate their future course of journey.The Governor also said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the National Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Policy has given a road ahead for skilling the youth of the country. The nation is rapidly moving towards the goal of self-reliance, start ups, entrepreneurship where skills of the youth are playing an important role. He, therefore, called upon the youth that instead of running after jobs they should be become self-employed and at the same time create employment for others. The Governor further said that the youth should be empowered to lead the nation as India stepped into “Amrit Kaal” to become a developed country by 2047.The Governor asked the youth to make the right use of time. They should channelize their energy for positive development and resolve and become active participants in the skill development and training schemes of the government. They should also take advantage of the facilities provided by the government to become technologically sound to steer the future based on AI, Augmented Reality, Internet of Things etc. He also asked them to empower themselves and make them fully fit for ‘Industry 4.0’. They should also contribute to the making of self-reliant India.Mission Director Assam Skill Development Mission Ankur Jain, Secretary of Council for Teacher Education Foundation (CTEF), Prof. Nilima Bhagwati, Principal of Mayong Anchalik College Dr. Mahananda Bora, Convener of Gauhati University NSS Cell and Director of Student Welfare Dr. Ranjan Kumar Kakati, students, teachers  and a host of other dignitaries were present on the occasion.
