Assam Governor attends Jain Dharohar Divas
Guwahati,Rongili Barta- Assam Governor Gulab Chand Kataria attended ‘Jain Dharohar Divas’ organised by Shri Bharatvarshiya Digambar Jain Mahasabha in the memory of Late Nirmal Kumar Jain (Sethi) at Pragjyoti ITA Centre for Performing Arts in Machkhowa here. Speaking on the occasion, Kataria said that he met Nirmal Jain on some occasions where he was touched by his spontaneity and simplicity. He contributed to society without any expectations. He was also a patron of Indian culture who renovated many old temples. He was a successful pioneer of Shraman culture. He was the President of Shri Bharatvarshiya Digambar Jain Mahasabha for four decades and during this long tenure, he provided new heights to the Mahasabha, with his selfless service and dedication. He said that hundreds of branches of the Mahasabha touch every aspect of the country, society and culture. The Governor also said that Sethi was a devotee of selfless social service. He contributed every moment of his life to charity and welfare of others. He was also the pioneer in championing the cause of women and youth power. He formed Mahila Mahasabha and contributed immensely to the empowerment of women.
