Addl. Director General of NCC, NER calls on Governor

Guwahati,Rongili Barta:  Additional Director General of the National Cadet Corps (NCC) for the North Eastern Region (NER) Major General Anuraj Vij today paid a visit to Governor Shri Lakshman Prasad Acharya, at Lok Bhavan in Guwahati and briefed about the activities of NCC in North Eastern Region.

In the meeting, Major General Vij presented a comprehensive overview of the various activities made by the NCC in Assam, underscoring the organization’s role in nation-building through youth empowerment, community service, and leadership development. He also highlighted the pivotal role the NCC has played in shaping the youth of Assam. Through its wide-ranging initiatives of fostering leadership, discipline, and a sense of national service among the cadets.

The Governor expressed his appreciation for the organization’s work. He commended the NCC for its continued efforts to inculcating positives attitude among the youth.  He particularly emphasized the need for more inclusive programs that engage young women, facilitating their empowerment. The Governor asked him to emphasize on programs that not only develop leadership qualities but also enable young women to play a greater role in shaping the future of Assam and India. He expressed his belief that such initiatives would further strengthen the social fabric of the state and help build a more inclusive and prosperous society.

Major General Vij also assured the Governor that the NCC would continue to prioritize its mission of empowering youth, particularly young women, and strengthening their involvement in the development of the state. He also assured that the NCC would intensify its outreach to more remote areas of Assam, ensuring that youth, regardless of their background, have access to the transformative opportunities offered by the corps.
