A delegation from National Defence College calls on Assam  Governor

Guwahati,Rongili Barta: A delegation comprising 17 officers from the National Defence College (NDC) called on Assam Governor Shri Lakshman Prasad Acharya, at Raj Bhavan today. The delegation, part of the year-long course on National Security and Strategic Studies at NDC, included officers from the Indian Armed Forces as well as representatives from friendly foreign nations such as Uzbekistan, Rwanda, Namibia, Malawi, and Israel visited  the Raj Bhavan.

Welcoming the delegation, the Governor highlighted India’s enduring commitment to the ancient philosophy of ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’, which translates to “The world is one family.” He emphasized that India, as a beacon of ‘unity and diversity’, has consistently led the way to fostering global harmony and cooperation.

Reflecting on the transformative vision of  Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the Governor stated that India is progressing steadfastly on the path of development. He underlined that the nation’s growth trajectory is deeply rooted in its rich legacy of education, culture, history, and civilizational values, which continue to inspire and guide its people.

The Governor also lauded the exemplary role of the Armed Forces in shaping the nation’s security and contributing significantly to the well-being of society as well as friendly relations with other nations. He stated that the armed forces not only safeguard the sovereignty of the nation but also engage actively in humanitarian efforts, extending their services in areas such as healthcare, education, disaster relief, and community development.

It is to be mentioned that the visit was a part of the Understanding India Study Tour (UIST), aimed at providing participants with an in-depth understanding of India’s multifaceted development journey. The tour focuses on various government initiatives and programs related to rural development, Panchayati Raj, law and order, women’s empowerment, healthcare, agriculture, education, the energy sector, and more.
