Governor administers oath to new seven Vice Chancellors
Guwahati,Rongili Barta: Assam Governor cum Chancellor of universities Shri Lakshman Prasad Acharya administered the oath of office to seven Vice Chancellors at a function held at Raj Bhavan here in presence of Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma.
The new VCs thus administered oath are Prof. Taranee Deka for Bongaigaon University, Prof.Niranjan Roy for Gurucharan University, Prof.Jyoti Prasad Saikia for Jagannath Barooah University, Prof. Ganesh Chandra Wary for Kokrajhar University, Prof.Mukul Bora for North Lakhimpur University, Prof. Hitesh Deka for Nagaon University and Prof. Mahadev Patgiri for Sibsagar University.
Earlier, Commissioner and Secretary to the Governor S S Meenakshi Sundaram sought the permission of the Governor to start the proceedings of the ceremony.
The oath ceremony was also attended by Education Minister Dr. Ranoj Pegu, Chief Secretary to the Govt. of Assam Dr. Ravi Kota, Advisor Education, Govt. of Assam Prof. Debabrata Das, OSD to the Governor Prof. Bechan Lal, Vice Chancellors of different universities, Secretary Higher Education Narayan Konwar, and senior government officers.
