Siliguri Chapter of ICSI Celebrates International Women’s Day with Seminar on “Narishakti”

Rongili Barta- The Siliguri Chapter of the EIRC of The Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) successfully organized a half-day seminar titled “Narishakti” at the Siliguri Chapter premises, in celebration of International Women’s Day. The event featured insightful sessions by eminent professionals and was attended by members and students.

The seminar commenced with a formal welcome address by CS (Dr.) Pintu Prasad Jaiswal, Chairman of the Siliguri Chapter of ICSI. He highlighted the importance of the topics ‘Advance Tax & TDS’ and ‘SEBI LODR Amendments’ and shared updates on the initiatives, including efforts to include Company Secretaries in the definition of Accountants under the Income Tax Bill 2025. CS Pallavi Bhagat, a Practicing Company Secretary, presented a detailed session on SEBI LODR Amendments. CA Kirti Singhal, a Practicing Chartered Accountant, delivered an in-depth presentation on Advance Tax & TDS.

Dr. Minakshi Chakraborty, Principal of Kalipada Ghosh Tarai Mahavidyalaya and Chief Guest of the event, delivered an inspiring address on the pivotal role played by women in society, the workplace, and nation-building. CS Rupanjana De, Central Council Member of ICSI and CS Anuj Saraswat, Chairman of EIRC of ICSI, delivered special addresses online, emphasizing the pivotal role of women in society and the workplace.

The seminar concluded with a cake-cutting ceremony to celebrate International Women’s Day, followed by a formal vote of thanks by CS Amit Kumar Goyal, Secretary of the Siliguri Chapter. The event was skillfully coordinated by Ms. Krishika Surana, a CS Professional student. CS Ashleen Saluja and CS Vikash Mittal, Managing Committee members were also present in the event.
