Lahowal Press Club Initiative, Rangali-Basanta Utsav – 2024 Memorandum
M Hashim Ali,Dibrugarh,Rongili Barta-  The commemoration of Rangali Basanta Utsav 2024, held under the auspices of the Lahowal Press Club Initiative and in collaboration with SKS English Academy, commenced with great enthusiasm for two consecutive days. The inaugural day’s program on April 24 was successfully executed. The unveiling of the Lahowal Press Club flag marked the event’s commencement in the auditorium of SKS English Academy, with the active participation of students, teachers, and staff. The flag was hoisted by the Working President, Rashmirekha Saikia Saud, amidst the presence of the Academy’s Chief Executive Officer, Dayananda Shah. Following the flag hoisting, Mukutamani Hazarika, Advisor of the Press Club, unfurled the Bihu flag. Subsequently, the Rangaphita Kati Mancha was inaugurated by Dr. Shruti Talukdar, Chairperson of SKS English Academy, and Moon Shah. Notably, during the first day’s proceedings, the winners of various competitions were felicitated. Garima Saikia and Indrani Dutta, students of class 10, secured the first position, while Sumitra Dihingia, a class 9 student, secured the third position. It’s worth mentioning that on the second day, April 25, a grand meeting was organized with the presence of Hemanta Kujur, the coordinator of the central committee, Montush Kurmi, the president of Dibrugarh National Assembly, along with many local dignitaries, honorable guests, and representatives from the Press Club. Various competitions were held as part of the event, where Bristrina Dutta, Udipti Priya Hazarika, and Jignasha Barpatra secured the first, second, and third positions respectively in the Bihu Dance competition. Similarly, in the ‘K’ category, Brishnit Datta, Mrigakshi Sonowal, and Barbi Gogoi secured the top three positions, while Sakshi Das, Garima Saikia, and Jnanashree Burhagohain secured the first, second, and third positions respectively in the ‘Kh’ category. In the ‘Dholbadan’ competition, Piyush Kowar secured the first position. Furthermore, the prizes for best-dressed male and female were awarded to Dharitriman Gohain and Nayan Gogoi respectively. Additionally, cultural performances such as Mukuli Bihu, Jeng Bihu, and Ojha Dhol were showcased by invited artists. It’s noteworthy that all the winners were awarded prizes during the event.”
