Governor attends 22nd convocation of Assam Rashtrabhasha Prachar Samiti

Guwahati,Rongili Barta- Assam Governor Gulab Chand Kataria attended the 22nd convocation of  Assam Rashtrabhasha Prachar Samiti (ARPS) at Rupnagar  in the city. Speaking at the function, Shri Kataria said that Language is the basis of exchanging of ideas and thoughts. Linguistic unity is one of the factors to keep a huge country like India united. Any language or dialect is not merely a medium of communication but it also asserts its identity. People’s customs and culture are also linked to language. The Governor expressed happiness that Assam Rashtrabhasha Prachar Samiti has been propagating Hindi for the last eight decades. “With the aim of promoting Hindi in the entire North-East, on the orders of Mahatma Gandhi, the popular Gopinath Bordoloi ji established this organization on November 3, 1938 and since then this organization is continuously striving for the promotion of Hindi. On this occasion, I pay my humble tributes to Mahatma Gandhi and Bharat Ratna Gopinath Bordoloi, who worked to light the flame of Hindi in Assam,” the Governor added. Shri Kataria also said that Hindi is the most spoken and understood language throughout India. Hindi is a symbol of Indian culture and civilization. The respect and honor of Hindi has further increased under the leadership of Honorable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji who often addresses international forums in Hindi.The Governor further paid his tributes to those souls who contributed immensely to the enrichment of Hindi. Addressing the students, the Governor also said that the Hindi degree that they have obtained through their hard work and dedication makes them unique in the society as an educated citizen. Development of society and country means educating the citizens, and at the same time helping the citizens to imbibe in them good human, moral, social, cultural and spiritual values. He also hoped that Assam Rashtrabhasha Prachar Samiti would continue to strive to take Gandhi ji’s philosophy and teachings to greater heights while promoting research and innovations in the light of the National Education Policy, 2020. Director of Central Hindi Directorate, Ministry of Education, Government of India, Prof. Sunil Baburao Kulkarni, Former Chairman of the Hindi Department and former Dean of the Faculty of Arts, Delhi University, Prof. Mr. Mohan, Secretary of ARPS Dr.Khirada Kumar Saikia, Working President of ARPS Bharat Bhushan Mahanta along with a host of other dignitaries were also present in the convocation.
