6th Edition of the ICSI Board Mentorship Programme begins in Shillong, Meghalaya

Rongili Barta- The Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI), inaugurated the 6th Edition of the ICSI Board Mentorship Programme, through its Section 8 Company, Institute of Governance Professionals of India (IGPI), on 2 April 2026 in Shillong, Meghalaya.
The four-day programme scheduled from 2-5 April 2026, will focus on developing expertise in Governance and Sustainability Practices and navigate the Board’s Legal and Regulatory Landscape through experiential and interactive learning.
With a participation of around 40 delegates, including Senior Corporate Leaders, Professionals and Senior Government Officials, from across the country, the programme is set to hold discussions spanning the following topics:
  • Duties and Liabilities of Directors
  • SEBI Regulations: Key Provisions
  • Board Evaluation and Its Impact
  • India Rising – Governance in a High-Growth Economy
Shedding light on the holistic nature of governance, CS Pawan G. Chandak, President, The ICSI and Director, IGPI, said, “the journey to good governance takes along and accounts for every single stakeholder in the decision making. Let us collaborate and understand the altering dynamics of the global corporate ecosystem to shape a stronger governance framework in corporate entities.”
CS Dwarakanath Chennur, Vice President, The ICSI and Director, IGPI, shared his views on the shift in the role of Professionals, Senior Management and Board Members. He said “the intent behind picking some of the most crucial aspects of corporate laws was to develop a better understanding of the expectations of Regulatory Authorities, and raise the bar of compliance and governance in India Inc.”
Sharing the success stories of previous programmes, CS Rajesh Tarpara, Council Member, The ICSI and Director, IGPI, highlighted the expansive nature of IGPI and said “the Board Mentorship Programme aims to strengthen the capabilities of the present and future Board Members, Directors, KMPs, Entrepreneurs and the Decision Makers.”
