SIGNING OF PETROLEUM MINING LEASE DEED BETWEEN OIL INDIA LTD.  AND GOVERNMENT OF ASSAM 

Guwahati, Rongili Barta: Govt. of Assam has signed eight(8) Petroleum Mining Lease  blocks with Oil India Ltd in the presence of Sri Jogen Mohan, Honb’le Minister , Mines and  Minerals Deptt.and others , Govt. of Assam, Dr.K.K.Dwivedi.IAS, Principal Secretary, Mines  and Minerals Deptt. and Mrs.Nandita Dutta, IAS,Secretary to Mines and Minerals , Deptt..Sri  Prasanta Borkakoty, RCE of Oil India Ltd. at the conference Hall of Honb’le minister’s office 

at Dispur amidst a gathering of distinguished officials from State government & Oil India  Limited on 29th March, 2022. 

Shri Ananda Kr. Das, ACS, Joint Secretary & Director (Geology & Mining),  Government of Assam & Shri Agadh Medhi, Executive Director (Frontier Basin), OIL, signed  the deed on behalf of Govt.of Assam and Oil India Ltd. 

The 8 PML blocks blocks are Dibrugarh, Dibrugarh Extn, Hugrijan Extn, Borhapjan,  Borhat ,Moran,Dumduma Extn and Mechaki Extn . Assam Government is expected to receive  more than 2000 crores of rupees from Oil India Limited annually. 

Shri Jogen Mohan, Honb’le Minister, has assured that Assam Govt. would provide all  possible support to OIL in its quest of hydrocarbon He requested OIL to enhance the  employment generation to the local people. He emphases the need of nations self-reliance in  energy and economic growth of the country.  

Sri Prasanta Borkakoty, RCE of OIL expressed his sincere gratitude to the hon’ble  minister, Senior Officers from state government for their august presence and assurance on  support towards facilitation of E&P activity of OIL, they shall make sincere efforts to achieve  higher level of excellence through concerted efforts & effective participation with all its  stakeholders. He informed about OIL plan to ramp up crude oil and gas productions by  enhancing its exploration and development program.
