Governor extends Ramadan greetings
Guwahati, Rongili Barta: Assam Governor Prof. Jagdish Mukhi greeted the people of the State belonging to Mohammedan Community on the occasion of Ramadan the holy month which is beginning today.
In a message here today, Prof. Mukhi said, “My warm greetings to the Muslim brethren on this holy occasion. Ramadan is a month for the Muslim community to observe dawn to dusk fast to cleanse the soul and come closer to God. Prophet Mohammad preached the eternal values of love, peace, brotherhood and compassion. Let us all practice these noble principles in the best interests of national solidarity and social harmony. It is a time which everybody should use to think and act for the welfare of humanity”.
He also said, “May this holy month of Ramadan bind us all together and bring us on the common platform to spread the message of peace, harmony and brotherhood all across the nation”.
