Bhutan Consul General calls on Assam Governor Talks on issues of mutual interests for strengthening bilateral relations

Guwahati, February 4: Consul General of Bhutan in Guwahati Jigme Thinley Namgyal met Assam Governor Prof. Jagdish Mukhi in Raj Bhavan today and discussed with him on a gamut of aspects ranging from trade, tourism, economy, and other issues of mutual interests.

          Stating the long and deep rooted bond between Assam and Bhutan, the Consul General expressed his eagerness to strengthen Bhutan’s ties with Assam in tourism. The Governor and the Envoy during their conversation  reiterated their keenness for strengthening bilateral relations and student exchange programme between Royal University of Bhutan and universities in  Assam. Further the Consul General said that Bhutan is also keen to increase its trade with India in fresh fruits.

The Consul General was accompanied by Vice Consul Phurpa Tshering and Attche-Finance Ugyen Tshewang.
